The Valley

One base,
and the whole circuit.

Yash Rock Hotel is a short drive from Brajeshwari Mata temple in Kangra town, and close enough to Chamunda, Jwalamukhi and Chintpurni to do the circuit from one room rather than four. Rooms start at ₹999 a night, or ₹1,699 with air conditioning, there is a restaurant on site, and parking is free.

How far

Down the hill and into town.

Brajeshwari sits in the middle of Kangra town, with the bazaar around it. We are up the hill from it — near enough for an early darshan and back before the day gets hot, and far enough that the night is quiet.

Navratri and the busy weeks

Ask weeks ahead, not days.

Both navratras fill rooms across the whole valley, and the circuit is busiest in exactly the weeks most people want to walk it. If you know your dates, send them now and we will hold something — several rooms and longer stays both move the price, and it is a conversation rather than a rate card.

If you are doing the circuit over three days, say so in the same message. We will work the rate across the whole stay rather than charging you a night at a time.

Before You Come

What pilgrims usually ask.

Anything else, message us. Somebody here has driven all of these roads in every month of the year.

Yes, and from one base rather than a different room every night. Brajeshwari is the closest, and Chamunda, Jwalamukhi and Chintpurni are each an out-and-back from here.

Brajeshwari Mata in Kangra town is the nearest. Chamunda Devi, Jwalamukhi and Chintpurni make up the rest of the usual circuit, and Baijnath and the Masrur rock temples are both worth the detour if you have the day.

Ask weeks ahead rather than days. Navratri fills rooms across the whole valley, and the circuit is busy in both navratras — if you know your dates, send them now and we will hold something.

Yes. Tell us the night before what time you want to be out and it will not be a problem — most people doing the circuit leave well before the kitchen opens, and that is normal here.

How the days fall.

There is a longer piece on the circuit — which temple on which day, and where the driving gets long. Kangra Fort and the Masrur rock temples are both close enough to fold into a morning, and Chamunda has a page of its own.
