Open water,
high above Kangra.
Yash Rock Hotel has a swimming pool on a hillside in Kangra, with terraced fields falling away on every side. Day visitors are welcome 9 am to 6 pm at ₹250 a person. There are rooms around it, a restaurant on site and lawns to the edge, so an afternoon here does not have to end at the water.
The water is the whole point.
Most people come for one afternoon and then ask about a room. The water is the loudest thing here and it is still quiet — no queue for a lounger, no music you did not choose, and the valley going on without you in every direction.
Yes, you can just come and swim.
The pool is open to day visitors from 9 am to 6 pm, every day, at ₹250 a person. Students pay ₹200, and nobody asks for an ID. You do not have to book, though a message on the way up never hurts — it lets us tell you if the water is busy.
If you are staying the night it is included, for as long as the pool is open. Most people come up for one afternoon and then ask about a room.
Things people ask about the water.
Anything not answered here, just ask. Someone always picks up.
Yes. Day visitors are welcome from 9 am to 6 pm, at ₹250 a person. No need to book — though a message on the way up never hurts.
Yes. Students pay ₹200 instead of ₹250, from any school or college. Nobody asks for an ID — just tell us at the gate.
Yes, at no extra charge. Take a room and the water is yours for as long as the pool is open.
9 am to 6 pm, every day. The light is best on the water late in the afternoon, which is when most people are in it.
No, it is not heated. Which is glorious from March to October and honest to admit in January — message us before you drive up in winter and we will tell you what the water is actually doing.
Yes. The restaurant is on site and the lawns run to the edge on every side, so nobody has to leave to be fed.
Yes, on site, and plenty of it. Drive up and leave the car; you will not need it again until you go.
Stay the night, or take the roof.
The pool is one of five spaces here. There are seven rooms a short walk from it, a kitchen that will feed you at the water’s edge, and a rooftop above it that gets loud after dark.
Families visiting the NIFT campus at Chheb tend to end up here for the afternoon too, and Delhi Public School Kangra is just up the road.
