A short drive
from the campus gate.
Yash Rock Hotel is a short drive from the NIFT campus at Chheb, on a hillside above the Kangra valley. Rooms start at ₹999 a night, or ₹1,699 with air conditioning, there is a restaurant on site, and there are lawns and a swimming pool for the afternoon nobody planned. Students from the campus come up too, and swim for ₹200.
Close enough to go twice a day.
Near enough that dropping someone at the campus in the morning and collecting them in the evening is an easy day, and far enough up the hill that the evening is actually quiet. The road is ordinary; no part of it needs a four-wheel drive.
A day off from the campus.
Students from NIFT come up here in every season. The pool is open 9 am to 6 pm, every day, and students pay ₹200 instead of ₹250. No ID, no form. Just tell us at the gate.
The kitchen does veg and non-veg, and will usually cook something that is not on the list if you ask ahead. Tea keeps coming all afternoon. Birthdays and farewells are welcome for lunch, and for a night of it, the roof comes with the rooms.
Book earlier than you think.
The weeks around admission, the Design Collection show and convocation are the ones when the rooms near the campus go at once. If you know your dates, send them now and we will hold something — you are not paying anything to ask, and there is no deposit page here to click through.
If you need more than one room, say so in the same message. Several rooms and longer stays both move the price, and it is a conversation rather than a rate card.
What families and students ask.
Anything else, message us. Someone always picks up, and we would rather answer than have you guess.
Yes, any day from 9 am to 6 pm. Students pay ₹200 instead of ₹250, and nobody asks for an ID — just tell us at the gate. If there are a lot of you, a message on the way up helps.
The restaurant here. Ten or twelve dishes, veg and non-veg, and the kitchen will usually cook something that is not on the list if you ask ahead. Tea keeps coming all afternoon.
Yes. For a lunch, message ahead with numbers and the kitchen will be ready. For a night of it, take the rooms — the roof comes with them at no extra charge, and it holds twenty to thirty people.
Around admission, the Design Collection show and convocation, when families come up in numbers. Send your dates as soon as you have them and we will hold something.
Yes. Tell us how many rooms and which nights — convocation and admission weeks fill up, so earlier is better. Several rooms and longer stays both move the price, so message us rather than assuming the rate.
The lawns and the pool are both here, and there is no hurry about either. It is an easier afternoon than a hotel room in town.
Yes, on site, and no charge for it.
Message us on WhatsApp or call +91 9816302659. There is no booking form here on purpose — you will get a person, and usually a better rate than a booking site will quote you.
While you are up here.
There is a pool, a restaurant and a lot of lawn. Kangra Fort and the Masrur rock temples are both a short drive, and the whole valley is within a morning.
